Scripture reading for August 21st: Galatians 5, Psalm 17, Proverbs 13
Key Scriptures: Galatians 5:22-25 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.”
When the Holy Spirit abides in us and we allow Him to produce His sweet fruit in our lives, there is no need for the law. The Spirit of Jesus is totally obedient to God’s Word and leads us in the desire and ability to keep in step with Him. By His fruit others will know that we belong to God and have reckoned our old man dead, no longer pursuing its passions and desires.
Faith Confession: My old man and fleshly nature is reckoned dead and the Holy Spirit lives in me. His fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control are growing and evident in my life, transforming me into His likeness.
Psalm 17:15 “As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with Your likeness.”
